For only the second time in its history, the international F. Scott Fitzgerald Society will gather in the author’s hometown of Saint Paul, Minnesota, for a week-long conference.  The conference will include a host of papers and presentations, public programs and festivities, as well as a celebration of the Minnesota roots in his writing.  The conference is open not only to members of the Fitzgerald Society, but Fitzgerald fans and scholars everywhere.

The 14th international F. Scott Fitzgerald Society Conference will run from June 25 to July 1, 2017.   The local coordinating organization of the conference is Fitzgerald in Saint Paul.  The conference will be headquartered at the College of St. Scholastica – St. Paul Campus, and the 340 Hotel, in downtown Saint Paul.  The conference theme, from Fitzgerald’s WWI discharge papers, is “Was student – am now writer,” celebrates his transformation in Saint Paul from youth to the life of a professional writer.

The conference includes keynotes by renowned Fitzgerald scholars James L. W. West III, Scott Donaldson, Anne Margaret Daniel, among others.  Acclaimed local authors Kao Kalia Yang, William Kent Krueger, Ellen Hart, and David Housewright will present at plenary sessions at the conference. The academic portion of the conference features over 75 presentations by American and international scholars - including Fitzgerald aficionados from across western Europe, Japan, Australia, Brazil, India, and Iran - on Fitzgerald’s life and writing, the Jazz Age, as well as American and Minnesota history.
