October Literary Bridges

Literary Bridges is happy to present poets Annette Gagliardi, Laura Kozy Lanik, and Linda White, Oct. 2, 2:00-3:30, Next Chapter Booksellers, in a matinee reading, highlighting Gagliardi's new poetry collection, A Short Supply of Viability. Host Donna Isaac states, "It will be so fun and exciting to hear these womens' voices, women dedicated to their art, teaching, and the community. All three are active in the League of MN Poets and deserve their place in the spotlight!"

 

About the authors:

Annette Gagliardi quilts, gardens, serves tea parties, cares for children, cans and bakes, grist for the poems and stories she creates. Her publications include: The Three Betty Goats Griff and Resourceful Erica, children's stories; a curriculum guide entitled: Raising Children with Roots, Rights & Responsibility; an anthology, Upon Waking: 58 Survivors Speak Out from the Shadow of Abuse, which she co-edited with Laura Kozy Lanik; and poetry books, Proper Poems for Ladies . . . and a few naughty ones, too, Earth in My Journey, In Cordova, and A Short Supply of Viability. She has been published in many anthologies, websites, magazines, and newspapers and is president of the Mississippi Valley Poets Society, where she helped establish the poetry walk in Richfield Lake Park.

 

Laura Kozy Lanik is a high school social studies teacher in Minneapolis and is the co- creator and co-editor of Upon Waking: 58 Voices Speaking Out from the Shadow of Abuse poetry anthology and is the current vice-president of the Mississippi Valley Poets Society. Linda White is a writer, reader, and photographer. Her poems and essays have appeared on Writer’s Block, MNReads, Book Riot, and in the anthologies Upon Waking, the Saint Paul Almanac, and After the Equinox. She has had two poems in the art installation Mankato Poetry Walk & Ride. She blogs at BookmaniaLife and is putting finishing touches on a novel and a poetry manuscript.
