Christmas Ghost Stories
Reading a ghost story on Chistmas Eve was once as much a part of traditional Christmas celebrations as turkey, eggnog, and Santa Claus. During the Victorian era magazines printed ghost stories specifically for the Christmas season. These "winter tales" didn't necessarily explore Christmas themes. Rather, they were offered as an eerie pleasure to be enjoyed on the 24th with the family, adding a supernatural shiver to the seasonal chill.
Canadian publisher Biblioasis is keeping the flame alive, releasing new, spooky tales in beautifullly designed little editions, designed and decorated by graphic novelist Seth. Get one or get them all to spice up your winter evenings.
